WCS

The Warehouse Control System, or more simply WCS, is the software that controls and manages the automations in a warehouse. It is responsible for managing and maximizing the efficiency of material handling subsystems (conveyor systems, sorters, packaging systems, and robotic systems) and, most importantly, the activities of warehouse workers.

Configuration

Through dedicated Web portals, it allows configuration of the warehouse system (sorter and tool master data), advanced management of workflows (waves) and their activation and association for processing.

Integration

Receipt of wave data is done by loading standard streams or simply by integration with higher layers (WMS and ERP) that transmit object data to be processed.

Sorting

Based on the data collected, the WCS organizes the movement and sorting of objects into logical or physical destinations (exit bays of a sorter).

Features

Interfacing

Our WCS interfaces, via native protocols, to field systems throughout their structure allowing for workflow management. Integration occurs for all systems and specifically:

  • Machine control (PLC, realtime, ecc..)
  • Reading scanner
  • In-line weight detection systems

Data

The WCS, in response to processing, generates streams containing the processed objects according to the defined configuration. Specifically:

  • Wave processing data
  • Container data created with object details
  • Surpluses and failures in processing

Web Portal

The WCS system, in case it is integrated with a sorting sorter with manual introduction lines, is additionally equipped with a web portal and a system for managing introductions. The features provided are as follows:

  • Ticking off the pickup containers
  • Resolving anomalies due to missing data
  • Visualization of processing progress
  • Lack of readings and sorting errors

Statistics

Through the integrated use of our statistics solution, based on NoSql Database, the operator can visualize in real time:

  • Processing progress
  • Daily and historical productivity statistics
  • Ability to display per-minute, per-hour and daily productivity data
